Suzie Devey

I use printmaking to get people talking. So you may find me touring a tiny printmaking studio in a telephone box, or recreating street signs and maps, or encouraging visually impaired children to make portraits using hammers and nails. On other days you’ll find me in my studio, carving out animals with a scrollsaw, etching microscopic details as larger than life images… or making automata inside old clocks.

The one thing that holds all this together is stories. I gather the stories I hear as people talk to me and this often leads to inspiration for new art.
