Sarah Peart
With a degree in Fashion and Textiles and MA in Higher and Professional Education, Sarah worked as a textile designer before sharing her knowledge, skills and professional expertise with University students, educating and training future surface pattern designers.
Working with repetitive units and rhythmical stitched structures, Sarah’s current practice is as much about process as the end result, embracing a contemplative approach as she painstakingly constructs complex pieces of work.
Old family heirlooms and vintage ephemera are a constant source of inspiration – reworked and re-imagined and translated through drawing, paper manipulation, fabric and thread.
The intricacies of the work are not immediately evident – only by taking time to look much closer is the intimate detail revealed.
