Kitty Bellamy
Oil Painting and Charcoal Drawing
Kitty Bellamy has been a professional artist since 2007 and has spent her life making works of art, which over the years have varied in subject and style as she evolved and honed her skills, finally settling on portraiture.
Having spent many years working as a professional animal portrait artist Kitty has recently returned to her first love, capturing the human form. She now concentrates her time on producing representational portraits in both oils and charcoal and can be found happily painting in her home studio most days.
"Raised in a family with strong artistic roots, creativity was enshrined into my DNA. I was surrounded by creative individuals who encouraged and nurtured my enthusiasm for art from the moment I could hold a pencil. I developed an early love for producing figurative sculpture but later transferred my passion and skills into painting and drawing portraits"
With an arts heritage going back over six generations, she followed her innate creative flare and in 2001 undertook a Foundation Diploma in Fine Art at KIAD (Canterbury). After graduating, Kitty left the art world to pursue other interests, returning to the arts after the birth of her first daughter.
Kitty is based in the ancient market town of Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, England. A beautiful part of the country with a stunning coastline and spectacular scenery. She has two dogs, a cat and three children and lives in a very arty house.
