Sally Tozer

Ceramic Sculpture

Sally, Brian and family moved to Pickering from Hull in 1984. For many years they ran art and ceramic workshops for children at The Humberside Theatre, Hull, and continued running classes once their studio was set up at Rock Cottage. Over several years Sally was involved with Pickering Community Junior School, and in 2000, with all of the pupils, produced the 5 panel mural displayed in the children's book section, Pickering Library Resource Centre.

Concentrating now on her own work, Sally produces figurative ceramics, functional and decorative. Her hand built and modelled pieces are influenced by folk lore and life; she frequently incorporates other media. Work is diverse, ranging from tiled panels, green men wall planters to ceramic figures and wall fountains.

Commissions are undertaken and she can work from photographs.
